Student Reading Interest Group (SRIG)
The Glenville State University Student Reading Interest Group (SRIG) focuses on instilling a love of literacy in local elementary students.
SRIG is a membership group in which all declared education members are invited to attend. The purpose of SRIG for its members is to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth, develop leadership skills, understand the history, ethics, and literacy education programs at the state and national levels, and participate in literacy education professional activities at the state level.
SRIG hosts several community events for local students each year. SRIG also visits the local schools and child care centers on a regular basis. A highlight of SRIG is attending and presenting workshops at professional development conferences at the state level including the West Virginia Reading Association Conference.
